LaVigne Home
for Compassionate Care
LaVigne Home for Compassionate Care is a donation-funded hospice guest home for terminally ill persons.
What began as an idea in 2017 has developed into a non-profit organization providing shelter and caregiving to hospice patients in their final days.

The Problem
National surveys have shown that most people would prefer to die at home or in a home-like setting.
For many families, in-home care is not an option. Many people don’t have caregiving experience to feel confident caring for a dying family member.
Family members do their best to care for their loved ones while juggling other responsibilities like children, jobs, and their own health challenges.
The care of a terminally ill person is both physically and emotionally draining.
Hospice facilities are often too expensive, and bed space was limited in subsidized facilities.
Tragically, in the final days of their lives, many people find themselves with no place to go and no one to care for them.
