Time Commitment

• Attend at least 75% of board meetings annually.

• Participate in board-related activities as needed, including fundraisers, grant acceptance events, publicity efforts, and social events.

Board Responsibilities

• Actively participate in board meetings, planning discussions, and annual goal setting.

• Assist with developing the annual budget and ensuring appropriate financial controls are in place.

• Support LaVigne Home’s public presence by clearly communicating the organization’s mission, accomplishments, and goals to the community.

• Help orient new board members and participate in evaluating board effectiveness.

• Participate in the hiring, support, and evaluation of the director.

• Ensure the director receives appropriate moral and professional support to advance the goals of LaVigne Home.

• Practice legal and ethical integrity in all board activities.

• Review complaints and concerns as they arise.

• Participate in policy development that supports LaVigne Home operations.

• Document relevant verbal communications and disclose any conflicts of interest in writing.

• Excuse yourself from board decisions involving a conflict of interest.
